This is a beautiful book with a collection of delightful photographs, some rare, some not. There’s captions in French but basically almost every other page has a photo that fills the entire page anyway so it’s a real feast for the eyes.

They’re in no specific order and you will see a picture of the young Mrs Norma Jeane Dougherty next to a page where she’s Marilyn at JFK’s birthday.

Every aspect of Marilyn’s career and life is covered, although like I say there is no form, which in a way makes it quite interesting as you find yourself looking at it randomly, finding a picture and wondering if you’ve seen it before.

I can imagine though some people being a bit annoyed with this. However, as the book is a celebration in photographs then it doesn’t really matter that they are not in order but, rather “capture” the spirit of Marilyn Monroe…

It’s an unusual shape almost like 6″x8″ postcard size but at 538 pages is very thick. It’s a nice little collectors’ item and possibly will be published in English at some time.
