For those who fancy coloring books, and lots of people do here’s a new one for you… so the classic song goes. And for those who fancy Marilyn books it would be the same. I can’t think if there’s been a coloring book before. We’ve had paper dolls and pop out books but not this. It’s actually quite good.
I love the illustrations of Marilyn. They stand well on their own but the magic of this book is the fun you can have with it. Especially if you are working with kids or have a young family. Let me explain. These pages can be photocopied and enlarged to A3 (saves the book) and you can let your kids color them in as they see fit. Also at the same time there’s a description of each drawing so you can read about Marilyn’s activities with each image.
They’re all based on images, some rare but mainly ones we’ve come to know based on Marilyn’s film and career.
You can use crayons, pencils, markers and glitter to bring Marilyn back to life in dazzling colour. There’s also a brief biography which is rather charming at the start of the book.Emanuel is a specialist at drawing Hollywood icons from the Golden Age Of Hollywood. He has created many Marilyn murals and has always been an ardent fan and serious collector.
