This is a very attractive book in a hardback presentation folder with a CD of her 20 songs presented in chronological order.
It’s illustrated with common pictures from childhood onwards and while there’s nothing new here, they are good choices and show Marilyn at her very best, mostly from the height of her career in the mid 1950’s.
Michael Heatley’s text is nothing special, he appears to have based his story on what is already out there without doing any proper investigation or research himself and has nothing new to offer the reader.
The folder measures 9.5 inches square and the book sits nicely inside in a slipcase with a picture of a young 1940’s Marilyn in a swimsuit. It’s good value for money and a bit different from the normal picture books the way it’s been packaged.
